The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) has maintained the Electricity End-User Tariffs to be charged by UEDCL for the supply of Electrical Energy for the Third Quarter (July to September) of 2025, with no changes from the Second Quarter Tariffs (April to June 2025) across all consumer categories.
As per the approved tariff schedule, Domestic Consumers will continue to pay an average of UGX. 756.2, Commercial Consumers UGX 546.4, Medium Industrial Consumers UGX 355, Large Industrial Consumers UGX 300.4, Extra-Large Industrial Consumers UGX 203.6, and the Street Lighting Consumer category at UGX 360.0.
The Authority also maintained the Lifeline Tariff for Domestic Customers whose rolling monthly average consumption over the previous six-month period does not exceed 100 kWh at UGX 250 for the First 15 Units. The Cooking Tariff of UGX 412/kWh for a 70-unit bundle consumed from the 81st unit to the 150th unit.
The Authority determined and approved the Tariffs for the Third Quarter based on a thorough review of prevailing macroeconomic factors, including: the International Price of Fuel, the Exchange Rate of the Uganda Shilling against the United States Dollar, the Core Consumer Price Index (Inflation), and the Energy Generation Mix.
The New Tariffs apply to all Electricity Consumer Bills raised by Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited, based on Meter Readings and Light purchases from July to September 2025.
ERA remains committed to promoting transparency, efficiency, and affordability in the electricity sector while ensuring a balance between consumer protection and sector sustainability.
