On 9th November 2017, the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) emerged winner of the 2017 Financial Reporting Award - Regulatory Bodies and Associations Category.

 
The Award was in recognition of, and appreciation of ERA’soutstanding achievement in Financial Reporting among the Regulatory Bodies in Uganda for the financial year 2015/16.
 
The award ceremony was organized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) in partnership with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and Uganda Securities Exchange (USE). The awards aim at promoting best practices in Financial Reporting, in compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards. They are a platform for organizations to benchmark their reports against those of their peers, for effective communication of financial and business information, to promote institutionalized transparency, integrity and accountability in the corporate reporting process.
 
For the financial year 2014/15, the Authority was first runner up in the Regulatory Bodies and Associations category at the Financial Reporting Awards. 
 
The Authority has over the last two years won a number of Awards and recognitions. These include the “Fieldstone Africa Renewables Award” in recognition of the success of the Global Energy Transfer for Feed-in Tariff [GET FiT] program, the “Uganda Sustainable Development Award” by Public Opinions International, and the Employer of the Year Award.
