On Tuesday, 20^th March 2018, Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), held a Public Hearing in respect to License Applications by Maji Power Limited for the Generation and Sale of 9.99 MW and 7.67 MW respectively under Achwa Hydro 3 Limited and Achwa Hydro 4 Limited, from River Achwa in Angagura Sub-County, Pader District.

The Public Hearing, held at Angagura Sub-County Headquarters in Aruu County North Constituency in Pader District, was attended by among others; the Woman Member of Parliament for Pader District, Hon. Lowila CD Oketayot, the Aruu County North Member of Parliament, Hon. Achiro Lucy Otim, the Pader District LCV Chairperson, Councilors, LCI Chairpersons of the affected villages and over 200 Project Affected Persons.

ERA held the Public Hearing to receive views form the Project Affected Persons in respect to the establishment of the two Projects.

The Woman Member of Parliament for Pader District, Hon. Lowila CD. Oketayot commended the projects and requested the Projects Affected Persons to embrace them for Economic Development.

The ERA Director for Finance, Edward Iruura who presided over the Public Hearing and represented the ERA CEO, informed the Project Affected Persons that the decision in respect to the views they submitted during the Public Hearing was to be made by the Authority before issuing the License to the Developer. The Projects Affected Persons welcomed the Project.
