On 6th April 2020, the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) announced new Electricity End-User (Retail) Tariffs applicable for Customers served by Umeme Limited during the 2nd  Quarter (April to June) of 2020, with a reduction in the Tariffs across all consumer categories with the exception of the Street Lighting Tariff already reduced by a big margin in the previous Quarters.

According to the approved Tariff Schedule, Domestic Consumers will pay UGX  750.9 from UGX 751.7, Commercial Consumers-UGX 645.6 from UGX 649.4, Medium Industrial Consumers-UGX 570.9 from UGX 575.2, Large Industrial Consumers-UGX 361.0 from UGX 362.4, Extra Large Consumers-UGX 301.7 from UGX 302.2  and Street Lighting Consumers-UGX 370.0.

The approved Electricity End-User Tariffs for the 2nd Quarter of 2020 represent a weighted average reduction of 0.35 percent relative to the Tariffs of the First Quarter of the year 2020.

The new Tariffs are applicable to all Electricity Consumer Bills raised by Umeme Limited, based on meter readings taken and Yaka purchases made in the period April to June 2020.
