On Thursday, 13th August 2020, the Country experienced a Total Blackout at approximately 11:16 hours. According to Eskom Uganda Limited, the Operator of the Nalubaale-Kiira Generation Complex, the incident occurred during switching operations at the Owen Falls Sub-Station that evacuates the Nalubaale-Kiira Generation Complex, to create a safe working area for painting works.

The incident involved a Bus Bar Isolator which failed during a switching exercise. The equipment involved in the incident was isolated for further investigation.

Total Power Restoration was achieved by 13:00:03 hours on 13th August 2020. We regret the inconvenience this incident caused and remain committed to providing Quality and Reliable Electricity Supply.
